Sometimes I just have to wonder if Studio Pierrot has any yaoi fans in the scriptwriting and/or animation departments.
This delightful screenshot comes from the newest episode. Without having seen the subs yet, I don't know exactly what Renji's saying, but he's thinking about Ichigo and then, suddenly, BOOM! He's got the resolve to continue fighting, when previously he'd just been lying there and letting his own sword spirit beat the shit out of him. He even manages to synchronise his pre-asskicking speech with Ichigo's, despite them being quite some distance apart and in two separate fights. The hints, they are not subtle.
